In 2021, Tara and I drove down to Phoenix to visit my family for Thanksgiving. On the way to Phoenix, we decided to make a quick stop at Grand Canyon National Park.

Our visit to Grand Canyon happened to land on the morning of Thanksgiving Day itself. It was fun to visit a National Park on a holiday.
We had beautiful weather and a spectacular blue sky to complement the wide, expansive canyon.
The views were awe-inspiring. We went to Desert View overlook, near the East Entrance to the Park along the South Rim.
the clear skies made for stark shadows on the canyon floor

I have been to the Grand Canyon a number of times, but never in the month of November. ... It was cold. Very cold! And also very windy! 😀
We also went to the main visitor center on the South Rim at Mather Point.
Although it was a quick visit, it was very rewarding. The Grand Canyon is a special place.
